Admissions FAQs

What is Sparhawk looking for in a prospective student?

We will always strive to admit boys who present evidence of their academic ability (grades, recommendations, extra-curricular interests, etc.) and character (demeanor, concern for others, self-discipline, etc.), and whose parents share the vision of the school and will work together with the faculty in the education of their sons.

Does Sparhawk require any admissions entrance exams?

Sparhawk does not require any entrance exams. However, the student interview does include a reading and writing component. No preparation is required for the reading and writing portions of the interview.

Is there a dress uniform for Sparhawk students?

Sparhawk has a dress code rather than a uniform. Students wear dress pants, shoes, button-down shirt, and tie (as well as a sport coat for grades 8-12). The colors and styles left to the student’s discretion. This freedom gives students an opportunity to learn to dress professionally.

Does Sparhawk implement 504 plans and IEPs?

We can, at times, accommodate certain elements of a 504 plan or IEP. These considerations are made on a case-by-case basis through discussion with parents, the student’s teacher, and school administration. If you are interested in Sparhawk and your son is currently on a 504 plan or has an IEP, we encourage you to contact us and discuss your son’s specific needs.
