Faith & Values

At Sparhawk, we believe that every person is a beloved child of God, created with a unique purpose and called to enrich their families, communities, and the world through their distinctive gifts.

Sparhawk Academy is an independent school grounded in the teachings of the Catholic Church and inspired by the spirituality of Opus Dei. We warmly welcome students and families of all religious backgrounds. Because of our shared understanding of the importance of a virtuous life, parents find in Sparhawk an ally in their quest to raise virtuous sons.

Sparhawk Academy provides many opportunities to support students’ spiritual growth:

    • The option to attend Daily Mass
    • Access to the Sacrament of Reconciliation
    • Chaplain available to meet for spiritual guidance
    • Religion classes in the lower and middle school
    • Theology and philosophy classes in high school
    • Mentorship with an emphasis on character formation

“We can try to turn the work we do into an encounter with the Lord and the foundation to support those who will follow our way in the future. In this way, study will become prayer.”

St. Josemaría Escrivá, Furrow

Sparhawk Academy’s approach to education is inspired by that of St. Josemaria Escrivá, who founded Opus Dei in 1928 as an organization within the Catholic church that helps people see their ordinary work and everyday activity as an opportunity to grow closer to God, to serve those around them, and to contribute positively to the world. This way of life is reflected at Sparhawk through the effort to do small things well out of love for God, fostering a cheerful and welcoming environment, and highlighting each person’s freedom and responsibility to use their talents to serve others and live a life of purpose.
